Who we are

Chord Lens is an independent project that shows the chords and words of a song, and lets you practise with it. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube or Google. You can reach us at [email protected].

The service, as it is

Chord Lens works out chords, lyrics, keys and tempos automatically, and it gets them wrong sometimes. We provide it as it is and as available. We may change, pause or stop any part of it, and we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Your content

If you upload a file to the Studio, you must own it or have the right to use it that way. You keep your rights in it; you let us process it only to give you its chords, as our Privacy Policy describes.

Charts, stems and downloads are for your own personal practice and study. Rights in the songs and videos stay with their owners.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

• use Chord Lens to infringe anyone else's rights, including by redistributing copyrighted content;
• scrape it, or try to get around its rate limits or other limits;
• interfere with, overload or attack the service, or try to reach other people's data;
• use it in a way that breaks the law, or YouTube's or Google's terms.

Third-party content and YouTube

Videos, thumbnails and titles come from YouTube and belong to their owners. Lyrics and some song information come from third-party services. We don't control that content and aren't responsible for it.

This site embeds videos using YouTube API Services. By using the YouTube features on this site you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and YouTube and Google may collect data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can remove Chord Lens's access to your Google account on Google's security settings page.

Accounts

You sign in with a Google account. The extension works without signing in; the Studio needs it. You must be at least 13 to have an account. Keep your Google account secure: what happens under your sign-in is your responsibility.

You can stop using Chord Lens at any time, and ask about deleting your account by writing to [email protected]; we'll respond. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.

The free plan and its limits

Chord Lens is free, and there is no paid plan today. The free plan has some limits, for example three saved loops per song in the Studio, and uploads of up to 96 MB. Our server also limits how many requests it answers in a given time. We may change these limits. If we ever offer a paid plan, its price and terms will be shown to you before you pay.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent the law allows, Chord Lens comes without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of it. Keep your own copies of anything that matters to you: stems and charts saved in your browser can be lost if your browser's data is cleared. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, this page changes with them and the date at the top is updated. If you keep using Chord Lens after a change, the new terms apply.
